The St Maarten electronic health record (EHR) system is now being used in almost all institutions in the Caribbean area. This system is used in conjunction with other data systems linked to a central computer network. Residents in St Maarten often ask, "How can we access our electronic medical records when we're not at the hospital?" Residents no longer have to go out to collect their own records. All information that has been digitally recorded can be accessed through the central data repository. Residents no longer have to worry about missing a appointment and having to wait until another appointment to retrieve their records.
